Julie Marriott

Has built up a wealth of experience in her career and is currently studying with the Institute of Professional wedding Planners to add credence to the business. Having already studied to degree level Julie is currently at Director Level and has an excellent strategic, organised, professional ethos to her work style. Julie has done lots of project management, reviewing and managing services and departments, change management, launching new systems, working with suppliers and contractors, managed large staff structures and budgets. All this has given Julie an endless supply of contacts.

Having worked for over 25 years in Local Authority and Education Julie has a keen eye for detail and organisation to ensure things run smoothly. Along side this Julie has supported her family in business one of which, running a village pub and restaurant organising large events, weddings and christenings.

‘I love the personal touch, attention to detail to make sure an event runs smoothly and the final outcome is exactly what the customer has envisaged. I believe in going that extra mile to achieve the best and my working life has always been full and very busy that’s why I have to have meticulous time management and organisational skills. One of my mottos is ‘If you fail to plan then you plan to fail’. I have always wanted to take the leap into wedding and event planning and now feel the time is right to put my working experience and expertise into practice and make an important day/event something that people will remember and talk about’ Julie

Dawn Priestley

Has had nearly 25 years experience working in the Health Service and more recently in Education. Working in these ‘people orientated’ professions has given Dawn a wealth of knowledge and understanding of people’s needs and preferences, also enabling her to appreciate differences of opinion and diversity, vital qualities when assisting a Bride and Groom with their wedding plans. Dawn has previously had her own Health and Beauty business where she specialised in Bridal / special event makeovers.

Dawn has worked extensively sourcing suppliers for the many events she has already organised, both professionally and personally; she will accept nothing but perfection, making her creative flare and attention to detail a top priority.

During her career Dawn has built up an extensive contact list, enabling Derbyshire Wedding Planners to call upon many professionals for their unique services.

‘It has been a dream of mine for many years to help others plan their own perfect Wedding Day as I did ours, I love all aspects of planning and organising special, individual events, large and small. One of the best things my Dad ever taught me was ‘If a jobs worth doing, it’s worth doing well’, this is a quote very close to my heart as I strive to achieve perfection in all I do.

My time is very strictly divided between work and home, I have a wonderful family, 3 dogs and a horse so I am very used to time management and organisation on a personal level as well as professional’. Dawn…
